A few shots taken while on holiday in Cornwall. I managed to track down a few frieght workings as well as visit the excellent Bodmin and Wenford Railway.

A great day out with good friends in the midlands hunting out photographic locations. First of was a stop at Elford llop, then to Willow Bottom lane at Portway. Onto Gredon on the WCML and Tamworth station to finish.

 | | 50's to West Somerset
A great day out with friends. Two class 50's on a railtour to WSR. We joined at Bristol TM for the ride to Minehead and back. We managed a tour round Williton shed and signal box. A fantastic day out.

Weather was great, the journey rather slow and it was quiet. Despite that we had a good day.

A sunny day and the talk of a class 40 passing through to Kingswear drew me out for a few hours. Added to that was the first Fast-line coal run from Avonmouth. So a visit to Pilning and Parkway was called for.

A mixed day for the weather, so we spent time riding the trains until the sun appeared. A great day.

A great day out depite being rained on and hail stormed. Took a long lineside walk from Toddington to Winchcombe and back. The sun did appear now and again.

 | | The Cumbrian Coast Explorer
A great day out on Spitfire Tours "The Cumbrian Coast Explorer". 37667/688 took the tour from Birmingham via Manchester Victoria to Carlisle. After the stock was turned using 57601 (on the rear) the return journey was made via Workington and the Cumbrian coastline. A great day out all round.

 | | Bristol TM - Swindon shuttles
Popped into Bristol TM while the shuttles to Swindon were on. Managed to catch the 20's at BTM and some works traffic at Swindon.

 | | Failed Railtour
Well what a day, we travelled to Birmingham to join the 87 railtour, however having been sent onto Wolverhampton the tour was cancelled. So on the way home we popped into Battlefield Railway and Glos and Warcs.

The first time I have been able to get out for several months and the sun was shining.

A few shots taken on the strech of line to the west of Westerleigh Junction.

 | | Saturday morning Local
I popped out for a couple of hours and managed to pick up 4 specials. A pair 37, Steam, TNT 47's and a 47. The locations being Patchway Railway station and Ram Hill.

 | | South Wales to see the Rugby specials
A great day out to Magor and Bishton to capture some of the traffic on the last day of the 6 nations Rugby. England were playing Wales. The rumour is that there will no longer be any loco hauled shuttles after this lot.

Just a few shots from the 20 20 Vision tour, there were very few chances on the tour to take shots.

 | | In the Highlands
A week spent in Lairg with relatives gave me the opportunity to photograph the most northerly frieght working as well as a few local shots. I was assisted by a railwayman from Helmsdale (Gary) and Michael in charge at the oil terminal. A big thanks to both of you for such great help.

A trip out to take advantage of a free ticket from Virgin's 10th Anniversary draw. We arrived at Warrington about midday and finshed off at Crewe before travelling home.

Well the tour did not stop in any place that allowed me to take any shots of the tour loco's but I did get some Grids from the train. Some being at Ferrybridge and Immingham.

Good company, good weather and some good locations in the Thames Valley, now all we need is trains.

One trip to Exeter and another to Bristol Temple Meads, both for a chance to ride the GNER and Midland mainline HST's hired in for Summer Saturay Virgin services.

Exeter trip was on 22/7/06. We had 43105/111 BristolTM-Exter and 43058/066 Exeter-Bristol TM
Bristol TM was on 29/7/06. We had 43043/052 Bristol Parkway to Bristol TM and 43116/115 Bristol TM to Bristol Parkway.

Friday 2nd June 06 a great day out with good weather and even better company. It was one of the days of the steam festival but there were a couple of the preserved diesels around in the carpark.

A great day out, took the train from Cheltenham all the way to Hull and back. Managed to capture some of the loco's used before the light gave out.

 | | A trip to London
A cheap day out in London thanks to First great Western. The weather was nothing to shout about being grey and overcast and very cold. On arrival in London we visted Marylebone, Stratford, Clapham, Kings cross, St Pancras and Euston. This collection is a few shots during the day.

 | | A few hours in South Wales
Dropped out for a few hours this morning to take some shots from the bridges at Magor and Llandevenny. It turned out to be a very good decision as we managed to pot 6 class 60's, 3 66's and a 57 amongsth the usual HST's and units. The highlight was 60018 coming over Bishton flyover with a trainload of HAA's.

A great day out to Preston docks with some very rateable thrash from 37416. High point was the exit from preston docks up the steep incline. Weather was variable between fog and sunshine. 60042 was the tail loco picked up at Crewe on the way up.
